Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the Workplace: 4 Things You Can Do Now!
You are invited to join this webinar where the history and applications of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) will be explored. Using examples, we will discuss four ways that you can support or begin DEI efforts in your own workspaces and with your clients. During this webinar, Judy Rowe’s goal is to create a brave and safe space to gain information, ask questions, and have discussions with the intent to grow through learning together.
Facilitator: Judith (Judy) Rowe, Principal of Judith A. Rowe Consulting, LLC
An experienced, energetic, Six Sigma Green Belt-‐certified facilitator, Judy Rowe is the principal of JARowe Consulting, LLC, a company who has a goal of helping individuals, teams and organizations build workplaces that are diverse, equitable, inclusive and healthy. Judy’s coaching, facilitation skills and strong track record have helped her build a substantial client base.
The cornerstone of her work is simple: We are all “learners for life,” with much to teach one another through open, respectful dialogue about our perspectives and life experiences. That ethos -‐-‐ respect, education and inclusion – has always been the blueprint for Judy’s work in coaching, facilitation and training throughout her career.
During her 27-‐year career with Corning Incorporated, a fortune 500 company, her positions included product engineering, sales, customer service and product management. She had several high-‐profile assignments, including a two-‐year assignment to help design and execute a five-‐day supervisory training course for all levels of Corning leadership. She also held membership and leadership positions in employee resource groups, mainly the Society of Black Professionals and the Black Women’s Forum. She has facilitated more than 30 leadership and training sessions for both organizations as well as other employee resource groups at Corning.
A resident of upstate New York, Judy earned dual undergraduate degrees in civil and industrial engineering from the University of Tennessee-‐Chattanooga, and a master’s degree from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. She is also certified as a Six-‐Sigma Green Belt, as well as StandOutTM and People SkillsTM trainer. She serves as Chairperson of the Community Foundation of Elmira, Corning and the Finger Lakes Board of Trustees.
